Vertical Kilian

May 4, 2009

In the world of trail & mountain running there are some big stars. One of the brightest shining is 21 year old spaniard Kilian Jornet. Last year he didn’t only win the Ultra Trail de Mont Blanc (in 20:56:50). He also won the classic ski-mountaineering race Pierra Menta, and became champion of the year in Buff SkyRunner World Series. In february this year he won gold in the vertical race in the European ski-mountaineering championship in Italy. Next up is his record attempt on running a vertical kilometre (his own record), and in mid June he will attempt to beat the speed record on GR20, the famous hiking trail crossing Corsica from north to south. Follow his record attempts here.
