The Forest

November 15, 2009

trästamI believe in spending time in the forest. Looking at the trees. The ground. The colors. Listening to the forest sounds: hidden water underneath, crying branches, lonely birds. Feeling the rock’s surface with my hands and wet shoes. Bushes cutting scars on my legs. Eating berries and picking mushrooms. Breathing smoke in the cold air. Watching the city from far away, from Nature’s point of view. Realising I am nature. Moving like an animal. Running in harmony on animal paths. Fast and slow. Soft and hard. Stopping and staring at a moose. Or was it a mouse?tråtopp

DSC_0087This time of year darkness falls early in Göteborg. You will need a headlamp in the forest after 3pm. Running on technical trail require a strong headlamp. I can recommend the new Silva X-Trail, which is lightweight and lights up the trail enough for fast running (140 lumen. Available in shops Jan 2010.
