Running through my head

Wolf in town. Trail running alone at night has never been as exciting as the past week. A stray wolf has been seen at many places in town, among them the park where I run frequently.

I’ve been having a severe headache the past 2 weeks. When it’s there I don’t function, I don’t even want to talk to people I meet in the street. I just hunch and grin, making my excuses with a lazy hand in the air. When the headache is not around, it’s such a relief. Like now. Waking up with headache at 6 am a few days ago I pulled myself together and went for a run. I had this image of running and letting the wind blow right through my head, cleansing it, relieving me. And it worked. So, now my  running has become medical. About a year ago I had a similar headache for 6-7 weeks. No doctors or pills could help me. Everyday it got a little bit worse, leaving me with headache 24 hours a day. Out of desperation I went to the emergency, hoping to meet a specialist in neurology. I did, and he told me to pick up my running in the woods, which I had stopped with due to my condition. It helped, and within 2 weeks the headache had vanished. It’s just that you don’t really feel like doing anything physical when you feel that bad. But this time I will lace-up and hit the trails even though I suffer. I don’t lack reasons. I’ ve just finished reviewing the first 14 new trail shoes, and I got about as many left.

Talking about trail shoes. I promised to promote the closing sale of trail shoes on Trailstore.se. Brands: Montrail, New Balance, Salomon, Inov-8 and Merrell.

If that “about a year ago” was actually precisely a year ago you oughta consider if you have developed an allergy or sensitivity to something you only eat during the Christmas season and possibly the month afterwards, it might be as simple as a special kind of cheese you only use around this time of year, nuts, cookies or some kind of seasonal candy in the lunch room where you work.
