Even though spring is in the air Green is somewhat absent. Better then visit your local organic grocery shop and get some Kale. I’ve bought a couple of kilos and put in the freezer for Green Smoothies. In May it’s time to start picking wild green leaves. Until then I’ll work with Kale and Spinach. Kale for example is packed with beta-carotene, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin K. The nitrates also makes stronger muscles. The chlorophyll is a cleansing and purifying agent. It rebuilds our red blood cells which gives us more energy. It’s effective against high blood pressure. Green vegetables high in chlorophyll content aid in loosening and cleansing the colon. Chlorophyll is alkalizing and has positive effects on the bowel, killing harmful bacteria etc. Drinking your greens is actually the best and easiest way to increase your intake of greens, since you need a powerful blender to pulverize the fibre and thus making them accessible for digestion. Breaking down the cellulose is also important in order to access the amino acids.
